Budapest – During the Friday evening prayer, a swastika was painted on the Árpád Fejedelem Street wall of the Frankel synagogue.
Two days earlier, the message “Death to the Jews!” was written on the housing association’s leaflet about apartment renovation, which was posted in the elevator leading to the synagogue’s private hall.
A swastika was drawn next to the message and the abbreviation SS was written. The monogram AH also appears on the page, presumably referring to Adolf Hitler.
The synagogue’s security service filed a report with the police in both cases, and they also attached the footage from the cameras around the building to the evidence. The police have launched an investigation to determine the identity of the perpetrator(s).
